Booked this hotel through a 3rd party as a package deal vacation. Totally worth it. First of all, it’s North Miami beach so it’s much calmer and a little more low key than South Beach.
Check-in was pretty easy…we didn’t get any guidance of the hotel and where everything is upon check-in but was able to get help from one of the employees and he was THE BEST. He literally walked us through the resort – it was so sweet.
The room isn’t huge, at all. But really, how much time do you plan to spend in the room? It’s very contemporary, all touch screen phones and the elevator is touch screen!
The food is good, we had at least 4-5 entree’s and they were all SO GOOD. No complaints there. The drinks keep comin! The service was great, the drinks were great, the food was good….private beach access…
The ONLY complaint is there’s no balcony’s or patios. I’d loved to be able to wakeup and go sit outside on a balcony and have coffee but that’s not worth going to another hotel over.

After a relaxing spa day I was extremely disappointed and frustrated by my interaction with the front door staff, specifically Claude.
The front area has no ramps so if you are handicapped or have a stroller with an infant you have to use the small lift. Upon arrival we were greeted and given access to the lift (we have an infant in a stroller). When leaving we asked to use the lift to get the stroller down to street level and were told by Claude that the lift was Only for the handicap. During this conversation he was rude and loud and even after I said there’s no need to argue he continued to yell and point to the handicapped sign. He then just walked away without even a word. I proceeded to go get someone else to help and found Danilo.. by the time we made it back to the front my sister had lifted the stroller and baby down the stairs. Danilo did try to assuage the situation and seemed as concerned as we were that this was happening.

This review is for dinner service at this hotel’s restaurant; According to their website, it’s simply called “The Restaurant at The Palms”, though it was known by a different name pre-Covid. It’s unfortunate that our dining experience here was only deserving of 3 stars. We were married at The Palms (an experience that garnered 5 star reviews from us on a few wedding websites) and everything was so great and we got such high remarks from our guests about the food and drink that we wanted to return here and experience it on our anniversary since we, like most other couples on their wedding day, were so busy and our concentration elsewhere that we ourselves didn’t really get the chance to fully enjoy it.
When we arrived, it took the hostess more than a few minutes to go inside and determine where to seat us before showing us to our table. Once seated, we sat there for several minutes before our server even acknowledged us. We started with the heirloom tomato and burrata salad to share as an appetizer, and we also ordered a bottle of wine. Our salad arrived in good time, but with no bread to accompany it (burrata salads are normally accompanied by an ample amount of bread at most restaurants). We asked the staff for some, and they returned with a bag containing one smallish roll for each of us. After completing our appetizer, we each ordered the filet mignon for our main courses, then basically sat there for at least 20 minutes, seemingly forgotten about. Finally after some more time passed we asked for a bit more bread since we’d each finished the single roll we were given with the appetizer salad some time ago and our entrees were still taking some time. The server returned a few minutes later to top off our wine and sort of mentioned as an aside while pouring, “Oh, by the way, I’m told we’re out of bread” and just walked away. So we continued to sit there awaiting our main courses.
Once delivered, our steaks and the risotto, broccolini and peppercorn sauce they came with were quite good, but it really took far longer than it should’ve for them to prepare our entrees, especially considering this restaurant wasn’t terribly busy on the Tuesday night we were here. After we finished our main courses, we each ordered a dessert. The key lime tart I had was really good – I just wish there was more of it.
As with many places on the beach, 18% auto gratuity was included on our check, which came to about $255 after tax and auto tip. While our experience here wasn’t terrible and it does garner 3 stars which means “OK” on Yelp, for a place charging $50 for a steak, the service could’ve been more polished and a lot more attentive. That we sat so long waiting for our entrees was also a low point, as was the fact that we had nothing to at least nibble on while waiting.

This is one of my favorite places to stay in Miami. It’s a nice contrast to the hustle and bustle of South Beach but close enough to access the nightlife when necessary. If you want a serene relaxed vibe in a paradise setting this is the hotel for you. Direct beach access and the spa made it feel more like a resort than just a hotel. The restaurant is great and there is a Starbucks across the street. The pool area and tiki bar were our favorite, we did both the beach cabana and the pool cabana for an extra fee during our stay and both were well worth it.

Mixed feelings- This was our honeymoon trip and we were really excited about it, especially in a year like this. We booked the palms at least a month beforehand, and called to alert the staff, about our celebrations. When I called, I spoke to someone called John (I might be wrong) and I got a sense that he wasn’t very friendly or familiar, but I let it slide. We called again less than a week before our trip to make sure we had a nice room for our honeymoon, and same thing occurred
, staff sounded curt and hurriedly rushed me off the phone.
On arrival, I excitedly checked in with the petite, black female staff with a short haircut, and her attitude cut my joy short, I’ll tell you that. There was absolutely “no congrats” from her. How do people tell you they just got married and, they chose your hotel to celebrate and not one person or staff even said congrats with a smile? That’s terrible. I work in hospitality and I know for sure exceptional customer service is everything as it yields a return from consumers. This hotel lacked that.
To make things worse, they took us up to the crappiest room they had on the 3rd floor, with no view and SO DARK! without any respect for our requests or our marriage! This is where we went livid. I came back down and asked to speak to the supervisor, Julian spoke to me and arranged to have us in a better room on the 4th floor. This was a better room, but not one chocolate, or even a complimentary bottle or note to celebrate with the couple. We were truly disappointed.
Now the good part, while waiting for our room, we waited at the tiki bar for some food and drinks. Yelian was our waiter and he was truly a delight, we later found out it was his first day on the job, what a pleasant surprise, I hope the palms promotes him!
The food and drinks at the tiki bar were not so special and drinks weren’t as strong.
We had a nice access to the beach. Bear in mind you’re charged about $38 per day per guest for resort fees. It is not cheap.
All in all, we had a nice room after so much hassle, and we extended our stay by two more nights so we could spend thanksgiving. Not sure I’ll be coming back, as the hotel has a lot of work to do especially cultivating a warm environment between staff and consumers, especially in a year like this.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel lobby is beautiful and welcoming. Our room was not ready when we arrived but the staff allowed us to store our luggage to enjoy all the amenities including the pool, restaurant/bar and beach. Everything was perfect during our stay. We felt very comfortable in our room. I also enjoyed the location as it is close to the south beach party scene but far enough where you can enjoy the peace and quiet at night. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Just finishing up an amazing two days at The Palms. Before we arrived I called with a question and spoke to Moises. He was so friendly and helpful. I mentioned it was our wedding anniversary, when we arrived he had arranged for a bottle of Prosecco to be delivered to us. Gabriel helped with our bags and checked on our room when we arrived a little early. We made ourselves comfortable at the pool while Gabriel brought our belongings up for us. Speaking of the pool, our server, Yaniel, was attentive and quick, we spent all day Sunday at the pool and were so happy and relaxed. Try the Caesar salad! The pool area was clean and relaxing. Our room was huge, clean and the AC was on point! We didn’t use the beach much just bc it was a windy day better suited for the pool. There is an on-site restaurant but try Tropical Cafe down the street for authentic Cuban breakfast, the concierge suggested it and we were very happy. This was a wonderful trip, we will be back!

The disadvantages were the lack of hot tub, no music in the pool areas, most staff seemed bothered, wait times for food/drinks was long, food was mediocre, poor tile jobs in bathrooms, towel cards make no sense because there is not even a person there most of the time, asked for more blankets and they responded they didn’t have any, fruit flies in the gift shop pastries.
In general I would stay here again if it was a good deal, but their are some easy things they can do to elevate guest experiences.
