Our stay was perfect!
We were celebrating my wife and my one year old’s birthday. The staff went out of their way to make our stay memorable. Special shout out to Elena at the guest service who was a blessing. She took care of everything for us and added the personal touch to make our stay perfect. Thank you Elena!
Also, thanks to housekeeping staff for helping with the cake smash, staff who brought drinks and treats at the beach at midnight for my wife’s birthday, staff at La Marea restaurant (sorry I forgot the gentleman’s name who was half Indian), who brought out special pancakes for our baby’s birthday, the valet staff who was always quick and quite attentive…
Oh, almost forgot…thanks to Gene at the Sand bar. It’s ok if you weren’t able to serve drinks at the beach; I don’t mind getting them on my own 😉

After a difficult 2.5 years, my husband and I wanted to treat ourselves and relax at a beautiful, classy resort. Unfortunately, Playa Largo was not at all what we had imagined and hoped for. As a 7th level Marriott property, we expected a beautiful, well kept, luxurious accommodation, but instead, found a place that seemed to have been neglected.
We chose to stay in a two story bungalow. Bungalow #2, was shabby, worn out, dirty, and smelled strongly of mildew, especially in the bedroom. It is right on the main road so one also hears traffic, truck air brakes, as well as smelling diesel fuel if you sit outside.. After spending one night in bungalow #2, (we had booked for five) we asked Tanara at the front desk what could be done to salvage our vacation. She, Forjee, and Kadien were very receptive to our request and managed to move us to another bungalow (#8). They really seemed to have wanted to make us happy. Bungalow 8 was nicer, a bit cleaner, had some art, and did not smell. However, the furniture, drapes and carpeting were well worn and filthy, as well. Even the towels and blankets were raggedy with holes! The kitchen is poorly stocked. There was only one spoon in Bungalow #8! One positive, the beds were very comfortable.
We tried to make the best of it. Miss Monica Hyatt sent us a lovely snack and, like the other hospitality professionals, really wanted to make our stay enjoyable. Sadly, unless they could have ripped up the carpeting, replaced the furniture and linens and cleaned the drapes, our issue could not be fixed by them.
The beach and pool area are somewhat small and tight and can be very crowded and noisy if there are events. There were two weddings while we were there. One evening we heard different music blaring from four different areas. The lounge chairs are also well used, dirty and some were broken. If the “beach” was crowded, trash piled up in and on the trash cans. One guest had a huge (about the size of a St. Bernard) drooling dog on the beach. The wet dog became covered in sand and presumably went back to a room. Ugh.
The accommodations were so distracting to us that we could not relax and ended up leaving a day early.
I cannot review the rooms or suites, just the bungalows. Playa Largo is not worth the high luxury prices.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about the week we spent at Playa Largo. From the second we walked in the lobby it was just an all around fantastic experience. The service is above and beyond anywhere we’ve been before. I mean every single employee went out of their way in some form or another to make sure we were as spoiled as possible. (Shout out to the bartenders who kept the drinks flowing- Jean and Vincent, you guys rock, if you see this plz bartend our wedding ❤️)
The food was really outstanding every meal, and the breakfast buffet was heaven. And each night at sunset there was an Eventide celebration with fun pineapple cocktails and live music. So many nice touches, I’ll leave some surprises for you to discover but this place is absolute paradise.

This was my second trip to Playa Largo and it did not disappoint! My first visit was for a baby moon, and this was for a girls trip. We stayed in the beach house and I cannot say enough about the experience. Private pool, private beach, huge house, coffee and pastries delivered in the morning- the list goes on! Between the four of us on the trip, we have been to the keys dozens of times, and we are so happy we discovered Playa Largo. We will never stay anywhere else. The staff is amazing. So accommodating and friendly. I heard they want to be the friendliest resort in the Keys and it shows. Honestly no reason to leave the property. They have it all from delicious food (fish tacos, shrimp, pizza), drinks, the best service, sunsets you’ll dream about, water sports, beach yoga…a slice of heaven! We’re counting down the days until our next stay!

Not your typical AirBnB, it’s tied to the Playa Largo Resort & Spa which is a nice feature to have, you can take advantage of all of the hotel’s amenities. Home had its own ocean front pool/pool house. Beautiful views and home. The hostess, Monica, was very friendly and helpful. Definitely would consider coming back
