Not the Same Magical Experience
Nov 2021 • Family
As others stated, disappointed with the Epcot Disney system because of the following :
-crazy expensive and just getting higher.
-not enough workers and very few foreign workers esp in Epcot Not the same
-food was spotty. Excellent in Morocco but horrible in France
-lastly the computer system that they changed to get lightening lane (formerly fast pass) did not work. As a result you can only get on one or two rides. Not worth it.

Waste of time and money
Nov 2021 • Family
Long lines, increased ticket prices, additional charges for things that used to be free. Not worth the money. Not worth the wait. Milking the old cash cows. Selling the brand. Sub-par experiences.

Disney has slid
Nov 2021

we had been before and separation between Disney and others is closing. Many of the small things that made it so smooth and easy to go there are disappearing. Disney prices itself at a premium but seems to be cutting corners now on the product.

the food has certainly regressed. hot dogs, burgers, chicken strips are about it unless you can get a reservation at a better restaurant.

the biggest thing for little ones, meeting the characters, is gone. luckily our seven year old doesn’t know he missed this. the characters appear some. we had 1-2 sighting per day. At this point it really seems more like a family level theme park that has rights to have disney picture up.

im not sure why they bothered with a reservation system, the parks were crowded. if you are letting everyone in why bother with reservations.

we stayed at French Quarter which was smaller and quint. that was nice. Once again, food was very limited. you can go to Disney springs but an hour to get there, hour to eat, hour to get back, it truly is a 3 hour journey to do that.

in the end it wasn’t bad, but it certainly wasn’t worth the cost.

to a ten year old and younger it is still magic. but i see no reason for older families to attend. it was double the cost of a typical vacation, and except for what our 7 year saw in his young eyes, Disney did not return that value.

in short if you have a child between 5-8 years old consider taking them. just know it is not what it used to be. outside of that, i would choose another venue,

Not worth the money

More live shows, more interaction with Disney characters. More discount packages. Visited Magical Kingdom. I’m from Canada. We have Canada’s Wonderland, 10x better in fun and price!

Disney World, we won’t be back
Nov 2021 • Family
We have been going to Disney World for decades. We won’t be back. It’s truly very sad.
We went to Disney World Hollywood Studios on Friday and Universal Studios on Saturday.
Disney World
Everyone was miserable and rude, staff and visitors. The lines were unreasonably long. 4 hour wait to go on the new Star Wars ride. Too few places to eat. Garbage overflowing every where. No where to sit. Too expensive, $3.50 for a bottle of water. Genie + worked only part of the time. We arrived at 8am and left by 2:30pm. We rode 3 rides, were starving (no place to sit and eat) and had enough.
Universal Studios
We had a blast. People were happy. There were a lot of people but we were not piled on top of each other. There were plenty of places to sit and lots of options for food. It was clean. There were lines but none any place as long as the ones at Disney. We arrived at 8am and left at 9pm. We rode all of the rides we wanted. Saw the Christmas parade, fireworks, Hogwart’s castle light show and water show. Ate delicious real food (not cheap but not Disney prices) and snacks. It was wonderful and we will be back.
Tickets cost about the same except that the Disney World tickets were for 1 park and the Universal Studios was a park hopper for both parks.

Nothing Magical
Nov 2021
Nothing magical. 10 years into yearly visits to Disney has been the most expensive and disappointing stay. No support from reservations, parks, or operations. No available dinning reservations, no explication other than we have no staff. Such a poor excuse. Limited dinning, housekeeping and assistance at the front desk we will take the almost 10 thousand dollars we spent and go somewhere else, Disney get you stuff together. Your stock is slipping and your magical experience is absolutely lackluster!

Power tripping carnies
Oct 2021 • Family
Place is full of over glorified carnies on a power trip about masks. If I were you I’d go to universal where you’re not only treated like a human being, but the quality of rides are better.

Underwhelming and disappointing
Nov 2021 • Friends
As a former WDW CP cast member back in 2000, I can attest to the demise of the top-notch customer service that WDW is known for. My friend is an annual pass holder and a DVC member and she thought it would be a wonderful idea to plan a long weekend trip for her, my 7yo daughter, and me using her DVC points to score a great room at one of the deluxe resorts. I wish I could tell you how blown away I was by how welcoming the staff at the Disney shuttle to our hotel was, how helpful and welcoming the staff at the Animal Kingdom Resort Jambo House hotel was, and how welcoming the staff at Magic Kingdom and Epcot were. Sadly, I can’t say any of these things. The bus ride from Orlando Int’l airport to Jambo house was basic as basic could really get. They force us to watch cartoons and commercials that honestly are cringe-worthy. Then aside from taking our luggage out of the bus, they won’t assist you any further. Then, when you walk into the hotel, I expected someone to help us with our bags. Instead, we were greeted by a sign on a stand explaining how there will be a planned power outage the first night of our stay. We get to our room to discover none of our magic bands unlock the door. That was fixed by the front desk, but it required all 3 of us shlepping our luggage back down to the main floor and back up again without a single employee offering to help. We get in. The room is lovely. We think that’s the word that could happen. We ordered 2-day park hoppers and used day one the morning after we arrived. It went fine until that night when my daughter said her throat was hurting badly and wanted to head back to the hotel. So we left Epcot and as we returned the stroller I rented, they gave my daughter a classic Mickey sticker which was very nice. Sadly, that was the nicest thing anyone at this resort would do for us. Today is our last full day in Orlando before we fly home to Illinois. My daughter is really sick today. So my friend, not wanting her own experience to be ruined over my kid getting sick, leaves for Hollywood Studios. I know my kid will not be ok to go to the parks today or tomorrow morning which are our only chances left to go. This is her first time in WDW, and she barely even experienced it! So my friend, the Disney expert suggests I explain everything to the front desk people and they can turn the remaining park hoppers into regular passes. So I tried and they said there’s nothing they can do but I can try customer relations at Disney Springs. I can’t get to Disney springs with my sick kid and no one to be with her while I try to figure out how to make my money worth our while. So I called the customer service number on the app at 12:00, I was waiting for a rep to pick up for almost 2 hours. At 1:54, a woman finally answers, I explained my situation and asked if they can somehow make our unused park hoppers into regular passes to use at a future date or reimburse me for them since we can’t use them. She starts asking for my name, my home address, and who I’m in a group with. Then she tells me that if we hadn’t started using the 2-day park hoppers yesterday, then they could’ve moved them to another date. But since we started using them on the 12th, they’re only good for 4 days after that date, then they expire. I said I understood this but I don’t think she understands my problem. She just said sorry, we can’t help you. That was it. 2 hour wait time on the phone for more disappointment. I am underwhelmed by WDW. When I was a cast member back in 2000, I was a teenager and I witnessed a crying mother saying she had the worst trip experience ever at WDW, and I paged my manager, she explained her experience which was not even in the same ballpark as my situation. Just disappointed in the weather and her kids throwing tantrums, and she scored a weeks worth of park hoppers for her and her family! That’s the level of customer service I came to expect. Now I see how in 20 years their priorities have changed and apparently their clientele as well. So many people seem to blindly trust this brand and company that doesn’t treat people as well as a Marriott hotel does. My daughter wasn’t blown away by Magic Kingdom at all and was cool with never going there again. She liked Epcot a lot. But she started feeling sick there, so who’s to say she’ll remember it. I guess we won’t be a Disney family and this terrible experience really sealed the deal

Beware! No Parking Lot Trams and Restaurants Close Very Early!
Nov 2021
When we signed up for our yearly passes, we weren’t informed that NONE of the trams to ANY of the parks in Disney World from the parking lots to the entrances are running. Although I don’t have a Disability Placard, I have asthma, and it has also been extremely difficult to walk a long distance since my two knee replacements. We were directed into a parking lot that was at least a mile’s walk to get to an entrance —where we had to wait in line an additional 20 minutes to take a monorail ride to the true entrance to the Magic Kingdom. The reverse experience leaving the park was even more horrible because the monorail wait line was enormous after the fireworks, and time extended to standing in wait for almost 40 minutes. Then another mile long walk back to our car to end the day. Disney has not provided any benches or areas where a customer could rest along the way. After a full day in the Magic Kingdom, even an Olympic gold medal winner would be exhausted and disappointed by the time they arrived at their car. Preferred Parking would have placed us closer to the park but would cost our family an additional $45.
Guests are also NOT informed that MOST of the “family affordable” sit down restaurants in the Magic Kingdom actually close 2 FULL HOURS prior to the fireworks. We walked from Tomorrowland at around 5:30 to have dinner at Columbia Harbour House on the other side of the park. A lady standing at the entrance turned us away because it had already closed. She sent us to Pinochhio’s Village House, where we were also turned away because it was closed as well. He sent us to Sleepy Hollow Restaurant, where we were also turned away. We finally arrived in Adventureland at Pecos Bill’s Tall Tale Cafe just in time to be told that only online orders were being filled. 30 minutes later, after learning how to do that, we finally sat, exhausted, disappointed, and angry with a hamburger to eat our dinner.
In short, it was an expensive and NOT SO VERY MAGICAL day for our family. We expected better from Disney.
